Kandahar, Ali Fazal’s upcoming Hollywood film, is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year. In USA, the film will open in over 2000 screens. As the film gears up for its US premiere today, the actor posted pictures from the sets on social media. Apart from Ali Fazal who plays Cahill, the film also stars Gerard Butler.Ali’s first action film, Kandahar, was directed by Rick Roman Waugh and was primarily shot in the Al Ula region of Saudi Arabia. The actor shared the images with the caption, “Behind some greatness there is always a director who makes it all happen. Kandahar gives tough competition today. North America. I cannot thank you both enough. Rick for bringing me on this trip. and Mr. Gerard Butler, on and off camera for all things infamous… (and many more) and the entire crew of the Kandahar Onset and Offset. You guys are the real heroes”.
The film is expected to release in India in a few weeks. Early reviews of the film praised Ali’s performance and termed him as the standout of the film. About the development, Ali had earlier said, “I am very excited with this development. The wide release in the US alone is huge and being an action spy thriller, there is a wide audience for the film. A wide release with a major weekend in the US, I am expecting it to be a bang. The film has all the elements to be a complete entertainer.”
