Big Ten sets attendance, viewership records at women’s hoops tournament

The 2022 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament set a record number between viewership and total attendance.

Breaking the previous record high in 2012, the Big Tent Tournament has gained 42,631 fans throughout the tournament. At Big Ten Network, 268,000 viewers watched the semifinals between Iowa and Nebraska, making it the most watched women’s basketball game in the history of the network.

The Michigan-Nebraska quarter-final match was the second-watched game in conference history with 238,000 viewers.

The tournament has an average of 120,000 viewers per game, 76% higher than the previous record set in 2017.
