Stanford defeated Utah 73-48 on Sunday to win the Pac-12 Tournament Championship for the second year in a row, winning his 15th title with a total of 19 appearances.

Haley Jones led Stanford with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, earning her tournament MVP honor for her performance during the title run. Cameron Brink added 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks, while Lexihal had 15 points and 5 rebounds.

Brink was nominated for the All-Tournament Team with Stanford University security guard Anna Wilson.

“In fact, I think they’re better than last year, and last year they won the national championship,” Utah coach Lin Roberts said of Stanford after the match. “I think they are the best team in the country.

“If both Brink and Jones join, they’ll reduce the Minneapolis net again. Alone, they’re a fighting nightmare. But when both are on the way, there’s not much you can do.”

Stanford will take part in the NCAA tournament, which was undefeated at the Pac-12 during the regular and postseason. This year is the 12th time the team has won at least a share of the regular season conference crown and Pac-12 tournament titles in the same season.

The Cardinal currently owns the country’s longest active streak in 20 games, with his final defeat at the top of South Carolina on December 21st.

“We won last year, and we have that goal on our back, that’s what we’re a kind of hug,” Jones said. “Keeping our competitiveness in the tournament is like fueling the fire.”

The victory takes place a few days after Katie Meier, a Stanford female soccer player who is a friend and supporter of the basketball team, died in a college dormitory.Meyer’s death was later Suicide confirmed..

“Katey was a great person in every way,” Hull said. “I think she was one of the biggest to be able to win [supporters].. “

“When it comes to women’s sports, she was enthusiastic, very positive, very affectionate, very extroverted, and very considerate of everything she did,” after Hull began to become emotional. Jones added. “When we participated in this tournament, we had a very heavy heart … but we tried to embody that spirit. We tried to be competitive and grainy. She is one of the most enthusiastic players I have ever seen.

“It’s really special to be able to win this and take it home and be with the Stanford University family when we come back. But we do it for her and for each other. I think I did a really good job of embodying it. “

Utah will host the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011 after participating in Seasons 20-11. Brynna Maxwell was the only Utah player to finish a double-digit match with 16 points. Kelsey Reese had 8 points and 10 rebounds.
