fans joined taylor swift’s Get a chance to buy a special edition of her at the MetLife Stadium concert on May 26 Midnight CD, which included a never-before-heard song called “You’re Losing Me”. The song’s lyrics tell the story of someone falling in love and wanting their partner to fight for them. It is not clear when this song was written Midnight was originally released, or if Taylor wrote it after her breakup Joe Alwyn earlier this year.
However, the lyrics certainly appear to be autobiographical, and many fans are certain that the song is Taylor’s devastating breakup anthem. “Stop, you’re losing me,” she sings in the chorus. “I can’t find a pulse. My heart won’t start for you anymore.” The singer’s actual heartbeat is sampled in the background of the track, which she also did on her 2014 song “Wildest Dreams”.

However, the craziest part of the song is the bridge, where Taylor hints that the man in the song didn’t want to tie the knot. “I won’t even marry me,” she sings. “A pathological people pleaser who just wanted you to look at him, and I was thinking, ‘Do something, babe, say something.'”
The beginning of the song cuts deep immediately too. “You say, ‘I don’t understand’ and I say, ‘I know you don’t understand,'” Taylor begins. “We thought the cure would come in time, now, I’m afraid it won’t. Remember looking at this room, we loved it because of the light. Now, I’m just sitting in the dark and thinking whether it is time.

Taylor and Joe were together for over six years before their shocking split. She was the subject of several love songs on the original version of Midnight, including “Lavender Haze,” “Snow on the Beach,” “Mastermind” and “Sweet Nothing,” which the two wrote together. The album was inspired by the sleepless nights Taylor had throughout her life, however, many of the songs were not necessarily written about where things currently stood for her (example: “Would, Could, Should Tha,” wrote about her 2009 relationship with Joe Tha John Mayer,
Because Taylor has been adamant that she wants her music to do the talking, she’ll probably never clarify whether or not the song was written pre-Joe after the breakup. Either way, she’s moved on from the split, because she’s spending time Matty Healy in recent weeks.
