To do what is best for him. Kelly Clarkson made a rare comment about his upcoming plans to move to New York with his kids — and his talk show.

“I haven’t really talked about it much. I talked to my crew in January through tears because I’ve put together such an amazing group of people. Obviously, we’ve been very successful and I love them all.” I work with and we have such a great relationship,” Clarkson, 41, told TalkShop Live on Thursday, May 25. “It’s either I’m not able to continue with the show or I have to move to the East Coast. ‘”

The songstress, who shares daughter River Rose, 8, and son Remington, 7, with ex-husband brandon blackstocksaid that her decision came from a desire to be close to her loved ones.

“My family is East Coast. They’re based in North Carolina. It was one of those things that I just had to do. There was a lot of personal stuff going on as well. I think our family — me and my kids — really I needed a fresh start and I couldn’t find it here [in Los Angeles],” he continued. “There was just obstacle after obstacle with things.”

Clarkson said he warned the crew The Kelly Clarkson Show About the Shakeup.

“I wanted to alert them but at the same time I have had great experiences with all these people and these relationships. It kind of sucks to uproot it and move it but it was 100 percent my idea,” she recalled. It was really cool that NBC supported me because I was like, ‘Y’all I love doing this show, I really do, I didn’t even know I would but I have to do it for me and my family. There’s a chance we might do that. I know we can’t do this with our farm [in Montana], So, any chance we can do it in New York, which is at least closer to my family.'”

The “Breakaway” artist further said she was preparing to film season 5 — and hinted at plans to address past reports of a toxic work environment.

“I’m setting up my show and we’re setting up an amazing crew. We’re stuffing the inside. And we’re figuring out where we’re going to have a good time and a great workplace,” Clarkson shared. “Because I even told NBC before I even started working on this show. [I said], ‘Look, I’m getting old for working in an environment that’s not healthy and not fun. I had to work for years in meetings and sometimes with really incredibly mean people, so I just didn’t want to do that anymore.’ So I’m focusing on the talk show for a minute but I’m also working in the background.
