IMDb, the world’s leading source for film, TV and celebrity content, has released its list of the top 10 most anticipated Indian films of Summer 2023. The list is dominated by Bollywood, with some of the industry’s biggest stars and directors headlining it.
Topping the list is superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film ‘Jawaan’. Directed by Atlee, the film is a mass entertainer and features a star-studded cast from various industries. ‘Jawaan’ is slated to release on June 2 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
In second place is Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal”, a gangster crime drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film is one of the most talked about films of Kapoor’s career and is expected to be a blockbuster when it releases on August 11 in multiple languages.
On the third spot is director Om Raut’s magnum opus “Adipurush”, starring Prabhas as Lord Ram. Despite the initial response, the film continues to be a hot topic among fans and is all set to release on June 16. The film is based on the epic Ramayana and is expected to be a visual spectacle on the big screen.
The list also includes the much-awaited sequel to the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha”, titled “Gadar: The Katha Continues”. The period action drama starring Sunny Deol is set to release on August 11, clashing with “Animal” at the box office.
Surprisingly, the Hindi remake of Prabhas’ “Chhatrapati”, starring Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas, is the fifth most anticipated Indian film of summer 2023, ahead of other big-budget films.
Other highly anticipated films in the list include Ajay Devgn’s sports biopic ‘Maidaan’, Sidharth Malhotra’s action thriller ‘Yoddha’ and Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’.
Overall, the list reflects the diversity of Indian cinema, including films from different languages, genres, and a mix of established and upcoming stars. It is sure to whet the appetite of film watchers across the country and the world.
