Mastercard announces partnership with NWSL Players Association – JWS

The agreement was announced on the first day of the Sports Integrity Global Alliance Summit on Women’s Leadership in Sports.

“We strive to ensure that women are seated at all tables,” said Raja Rajamannar, Mastercard’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “Gender equality is an action-requiring issue, and our alliance with the Players Association advances that pledge. We are proud to deepen our support for women’s football, and these passionate and bold. We look forward to a great season for our players and growing fan base. “

This partnership aims to “provide players with additional resources and tools designed to empower them as the momentum of women’s sports continues.”

Meghann Burke, Executive Director of NWSLPA, said: “Mastercard’s influential support will help accelerate player activation and league expansion as it expands the appeal of women’s football.”

Partnership comes after NWSLPA Successful ratification The league’s first collective bargaining agreement prior to the start of the 2022 season. The league also nominated Jessica Berman as the next commissioner on Wednesday.

The NWSL Challenge Cup will start on March 16th.
