Nanna Koerstz Madsen captures first LPGA title in thrilling playoff – JWS

Nanna Colts Madsen made an eagle in the second playoff hole to win the 2022 Honda LPGA Thailand on Sunday and became the winner of the first LPGA tour from Denmark.

After finishing a 26-under draw with Shu Lin, Colts Madsen stepped forward and sank a 10-foot putt to win. Koerstz Madsen and Lin set a new tournament record, beating the Jessia Korda -25 set in 2018.

“She really fought. She played great because she finished the birdie birdie,” Colts Madsen said of Lynn after the playoffs. “Yes, I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous there.”

Colts Madsen entered the final round by one stroke, and Lin took advantage of the 17th birdie, taking advantage of the 16th Colts Madsen bogey.

In the playoffs, Lin pushed Kolesz Madsen, making chips in front of the green to make the first hole a birdie, and the second hole pushed his rivals a lot to win.

“Wow, it’s a dream come true,” said Kolesz Madsen. “I’m really excited to be standing with the trophy right now.”
