“As the eldest son of an African family, you are either a doctor, a lawyer, or a pharmacist. [Your parents] I went to school for nursing to take me to a place where I had the opportunity not to risk it at a lot of sacrifice. I came in and did the first semester of clinical practice, and that’s when I thought, this isn’t going to work for me. [Laughs] I wrote to my dad — it was very dramatic. And I dropped out of school.
On his 25th birthday, he promised to return to school if nothing changed that year. I launched the Cosmetology YouTube channel that October and soared. My first video was time management [laughs].. But after that, it was just beauty. [The Darkest Shade series] It really complements it.my [YouTube] It is always about promoting expression and promoting the inclusiveness of beauty in drugstore aisles and the beauty industry as a whole. I was very nervous when I first started. There is one particular video that I remember I didn’t intend to post. My face and chest were discolored, so it was a way to fit my face and body. I was so scared to put myself out there like that. From someone very close to me, “Well, your sister will really enjoy and appreciate this kind of thing. I would appreciate it if you could have something like this when you were young.” [my audience] Growing up, I found more sisters and more stories. It felt more than my little community, it felt more like, This will change the world.. Now I have a lot of sisters who respect me, and I can’t disappoint them.
Currently, as a CVS Cosmetology Comprehensive Consultant, I am working to find new brands that may be in stock in the store. Why I like drugstores [beauty] You don’t have to wait. If you run out, you can go in and get what you need. We also provide in-house consulting.I just actually launched Master class With a variety of great black artists on hair, skin care and makeup. The project was big for me. And finally there is one more in my bucket list. I hope it will be announced soon.
Much of my skin is genetic, but I need to maintain it. I have to hydrate it and make sure I peel off as it really dulls. I like Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line. One of my favorites Hydrogel mask..I also use Hydro Boost Cleanser And it’s really lightweight. It gives you foam, but it’s still mild and not dry. Also, it smells really good. I have several different oil cleansers.I Biosans Squalane Oil Cleanser Morning and night Go Awf Naturel Cleansing Oil From the horse by Sharon C.I think it’s convenient [to have two oil cleansers] Take a shower in one bathroom and finish the night in another. For moisturizers Biosans Squalene Moisturizer At night.I really love it because of the dullness Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair For hydration of thin lines. It’s top notch. When you wear it before you wake up, it just does the job.And i’m using Color Dose Cold Press Booster Multi-use Oil.. It’s really thick, but it penetrates. It’s the perfect topper for your moisturizer.
Double cleansing again in the morning. There is an esthetician like everyone is doing, Guidance to shine, So I use some of her serum in the morning.Have stem cells Ultimate Growth Factor Serum, It’s a rejuvenating night serum. Then she has peptides and hyaluronic acid serum, Copper complex peptide serum, I use it in the morning. After serum, Tula has this 24-7 Power Swipe Stick Very convenient for your eyes. You don’t have to mess with your fingers to get in there. Just swipe. I have allergies and it makes my eyes itchy. Besides, I have swelling and caffeine in it helps reduce swelling. [Sunscreen] Obviously, it depends on the mineral or chemical formula. The mineral sunscreen I use from time to time BiosansHowever, it has a slightly purplish hue, so I use it only when I’m doing make-up. If you’re not wearing makeup like you are today Black girl sunscreen.. very good.
[If I had to do a face with my holy grail products]My foundation is L’Oreal True Match of C12.. I use a concealer that suits my complexion and then lighten it a little to make it brighter.I like Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer of Very deep.. Urban Decay has a really nice concealer that I like. Naked concealerAnd it’s also really dark. Fenty Beauty There is a new undereye balm that is not the perfect concealer I also like. It’s a “no makeup” day. At first, I couldn’t find anything that matched my complexion, so I put the foundation on my chest. There are many products that fit your face, so match the foundation to your face and use a concealer and powder to balance.
The MAC Concealer and Correct Pro Face Palette There are really nice contour shades. Sometimes brands generally don’t go deep enough.Manipulate the shade range to make it appear to work for deeper skin tones [is also a problem]..I’ve seen brands launch products, but their darkest shades don’t always match the perfect match. [for dark skin], But they will say, “Oh, put it under your eyes and in the area of your highlighter.” However, don’t force or manipulate foundation shades that don’t match. It doesn’t help anyone.
Sometimes brands generally don’t go deep enough.Manipulate the shade range to make it appear to work for deeper skin tones [is also a problem]..
I use translucent powder Bare mineral Set my entire face. The Danessa Millix Setting Powder Is also good. I end my eyes with that. Colored rain There are many beautiful blushes. I love good reds, but oranges are one of my favorites for a natural everyday look. NARS brush-in Exhibit A A really nice, nice orange blush. I put it near my temples, made it almost “C”, and put a little on the apples on my cheeks.I also use Mida Cosmetics x Neon MUA Probably a bronzer and contour palette that came out a year ago. It’s one of my favorites. Colored Raine also featured my favorite bronzers, especially their bronzers. Cocoa Goddess Bronzer..I don’t use highlighters very much, but I always live and die with Dior’s Noodle Minizer [ed. note: discontinued]..
Recently I returned to a winged liner.I really like Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel of 77 77.. Mascara is Maybelline..And for the eyebrows, I like Nyx Micro Brow Pencil.. At the beginning of my eyebrows, I’m a kind of reverse contour, when you use a lighter powder or a powder that is your skin tone. For that, I put the concealer in my eyebrows with a mini stroke, but it looks like fluffy eyebrows.
My reliable lip combo right now is clearly my Dose of Colors collaboration. Nude lip set.. There is really one matte lipstick. If you change clothes from nude, Orange kit With them, it’s basically an ode to coral lipstick that actually looks flattering with deeper skin tones. I’m also a fan of red lipstick — I love blue-red. MAC has Ruby WooI love it, and obviously my other favorite red lipstick is the one I made with MAC. [ed. note: discontinued]
I go to Salon Daba To wash braids and my natural hair in LA. [Amina’s] It really gets cold, and her braid doesn’t hurt, it’s number one. And she does a really great job with my braids under my wig. It may or may not wear natural hair. I also use a lot of hair oil on her scalp. Miel’s Rosemary Mint Scalp Oil How nice. It’s really tingling and it feels good to massage. Glamsquad also has these Clip comb, And they stay. I use it to hold down my hair when styling. I think I like wearing the hairstyle I have now. It was a long time of 15 hours, but it should have taken 2 days.
Use in the shower Crème of Nature.. Their shampoo and conditioner are some of my favorites. Pantene Gold Series It’s really good. I didn’t want it, but it’s really good. If I had changed my style more, I would probably wash my hair once a week, but that depends on the situation.
BODY + FITNESS
I hike about 4 days a week — it’s a really great way to start your morning. I also do Pilates two days a week, and that’s really one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. They make it look so easy, and I feel like I’m dying in the corner.
I use various moisturizers on my body. I’m using the Tula that just came out. Moisturizing and exfoliating.. It does not contain acid, but has these small spots. It’s really hard to find a brand where many of their products actually work for you, and it’s Tula for me. For body soap, I like something big. I don’t want to run out in 3 seconds.I’m using it now pigeon.. I usually take a shower in the morning after exercising. At night, when it’s really cold, I take a bath. I love scrubbing in the bath.I also love Epsom salt because I exercise a lot. Home body There are some really nice bath salts.Bath candles are nice — I make it a lot of experience FORVR mood candle..
Fragrance + nail
It’s not very special for everyday fragrances, but it’s very specific for workouts. I like sweat-resistant scents, so I use a very fresh and clean scent. Dolce and governor light blue So good and it’s so strong You can see me look crazy, but I don’t want you to smell me look crazy. [Laughs]
I do my nails more often than necessary — every two weeks if not missing. Women who do them do various gel polishes. For a moment I Coconut on OPI kick. It’s a very beautiful nude shade, especially for my skin shades. It’s a gel and regular shade, so it’s also recommended for those who like regular polish. I bite my nails — that’s where I get rid of most of my anxiety, so if I complete my nails last week and I get rid of them all this week, I’ll get them done again. Or strip off the polish. That’s terrible. I’ve tried acrylic in the past, but it doesn’t really bother me.The one I recently tried is a little different Impress press-on nails.. It’s a gel press, but it’s painted in the same way as gel, so it’s very cool. “
