what’s it about?
Bhaijaan (Salman Khan) lives in Delhi with his three brothers Moh (Jassi Gill), Luv (Raghav Juyal) and Ishq (Siddharth Nigam). Despite having no one to call her own, she has created a family and now this family and their safety and happiness is what matters the most to her. He is happy in his life with his brothers and he is the Bhaijaan of the entire township in which they live. And every time there is a threat to him or someone around him, Bhaijaan and his three brothers resort to gruesome violence to settle it. An MLA (Vijender Singh) is after his life, but fails every time. Soon, Bhagyalakshmi (Pooja Hegde), a beautiful South Indian girl from Hyderabad who comes to Delhi for work, falls in love with him. She thinks that Bhaijaan (Her Jaan) is like her elder brother Annaya (Venkatesh Daggubati), non-violent and calm and is sure that his family will immediately accept him. However, Bhaijaan’s reality does not remain hidden as Bhagya and his family in Hyderabad are attacked by their previous rival (Jagapathi Babu) and it is Bhaijaan who comes to their rescue. Their nemesis in Delhi and Hyderabad unite to eliminate Bhaijaan and Annaya. How new bonds are formed, how old ones change and how two families from North and South come together for love is the most important part of the story of Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

What is the latest?
Salman Khan promised to celebrate on the big screen and he has done just that with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. And songs play an important role in this. The songs are upbeat – be it the Punjabi number Billi Billi, O Balle Balle or the South number Yentamma. If Salman as a producer wanted the songs to look grand despite not being shot in real or exotic locations, his director Farhad Samji and cinematographer V Manikandan successfully executed it. The way most of the songs have been shot, there is a celebratory vibe in it and it will surely rule the coming wedding season. Talking about action, it is an integral part of Bhaijaan’s life and hence film and action director Anal Arasu proves why he is one of the best in India. The fight scenes are raw with a tinge of heroism that is in sync with Bhaijaan’s character and personality.
The casting is well done by Mukesh Chhabra and special mention needs to be made here for the dialogues written by Farhad Samji, Adarsh Khetrapal and Tasha Bhambra which may not be seeti-maad but are raw, genuine and relatable (Vande Mataram One- except for the liners which looked forced). He has also handled the ensemble cast very well, giving everyone proper screen time. Shehnaz Gill is gorgeous, Palak Tiwari is bubbly and confident, Vinali Thakur shows promise. Raghav, Siddharth and Jassi play their roles well. Jagapathi Babu is menacing in his role and deserves more screen time, Vijender Singh stuns with his performance and looks perfect Haryanvi. Venkatesh is wonderful as a strong Hyderabadi guy and will remind you of Rana Naidu. There must be a fan petition to cast Venkatesh more in Hindi films and series. Her scenes and songs with Salman are a delight to watch.
There are some moments in the film which will stand out. There will be scenes that will leave a smile on your face and even make you laugh, there will be some scenes that will leave a lump in your throat, nostalgic with Maine Pyar Kiya throwback with Salman and Bhagyashree Naatu Naatu 2.0 with a solid kick and Salman, Venky and the OG Naatu Naatu star Ram Charan. Farhad Samji is definitely getting his rhythm back. After an entertaining Pop Kaun for Disney Plus Hotstar, they have delivered yet another entertainment package in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
what is not
There are loopholes in the story which could have been easily avoided. For example, no one knows what Bhaijaan and his three brothers do to earn a living. The reveal of Ananya’s real identity, which had scope to be very dramatic and action-packed, is treated as just another scene in the film. Though shot extensively, the choreography of some of the songs is indeed laughable. Jaani Master and his team do well on the peppy dance numbers but there was immense scope for improvement in the slower romantic numbers.
BL decision
A complete family entertainer with the best of romance, action and drama. Salman Khan brings back his swag and massive entertainment on the big screen to add to the festivities of Eid. A must watch for Salman Khan fans and those looking for some fun, safe big screen experience with family.
