In a statement, Pamela’s son Aditya Chopra, who works as a film producer, announced that his mother’s last rites will be performed today at 11 am at Pawan Hans cremation ground in Vile Parle. The funeral ceremony was attended by members of her family, including son Uday and daughter-in-law Rani Mukerji, as well as close friends of the Chopra family, who attended the funeral.
After the funeral ceremony, celebrities visited the Chopra residence to express their condolences to the bereaved family. Later in the afternoon, actor and long-time family friend Shah Rukh Khan also arrived at the house with his son Aryan Khan. The superstar, dressed in white, paid his respects to the Chopra family.
Celebrity couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh reached home in the evening. Ranveer was barely recognizable in his sunglasses, beanie and face mask. Other celebrities like Katrina Kaif and her husband Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor, Kunal Shashi Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh were also seen at the Chopra residence to pay tribute and express their condolences.
“With a heavy heart, the Chopra family wishes to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her last rites took place today at 11 am in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and prayers,” YRF said in an official statement. The family would like to request privacy during this time of deep sorrow and reflection.
In 1970, Yash and Pamela tied the knot and later had two sons, Aditya and Uday. Pamela was also known for lending her voice to many of Yash’s films. Her most popular songs included “Main Sasural Nahi Jaungi” from the film Chandni and “Ghar Aaja Pardesi” from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
