push it! something Borrowed captivated audiences in 2011 — and more than 10 years later, viewers are still clamoring for a sequel that will reveal more of Rachel and Darcy’s complicated stories.
based on a rom-com Emily Giffinthe book of the same name, starred ginnifer goodwin as Rachel and Kate Hudson as her BFF Darcy. While the women are thick as thieves when the film begins, things are much more complicated by the end.

In the end the truth comes out. Darcy admits that while she “hated” her best friend, she also cheated and is now pregnant. Before the credits roll, Darcy visits Rachel and learns that she is still dating Dex. The two women wish each other well and part ways.
While onscreen drama was simmering – and fans flew to London to be with Rachel’s friend Ethan after Darcy became pregnant (John Krasinski) — The off camera cast dynamic was fun and relaxed.
“We got along right away. We became friends the moment we met. We’re both girls’ girls. Neither of us are competitive with other actresses,” Goodwin told Collider in May 2011 of Hudson. “Our life priorities are the same, so as different as we may be, we’re exactly alike in the most important ways, so we became fast friends. That part wasn’t difficult. It never took us long to reproduce the chemistry between us.” Didn’t have to work.”
Despite the film’s bad ending, audiences can’t get enough of Rachel and Darcy, so much so, they’re waiting for Giffin’s book. something blue to be a feature film.
“It’s happening really soon. The script is in such good, great shape,” the writer teased of the film’s sequel to PopSugar in July 2016. “They did a fourth version. I wrote the first one, and then the production company Hired this wonderful husband-and-wife team, and they have a really great dynamic that’s almost like a joke between Ethan and Darcy. They brought that approach to it but were still really true to the characters. It is so funny.”
Unfortunately, the second film isn’t slated for 2022. If the film gets the green light on the road, both Goodwin and Egglesfield are open to returning to New York City and reprising their roles, assuming they are asked back.
“She must write another book!” Goodwin told Egglesfield on a January 2022 episode of his “Coffee with Colin” YouTube series. “We’re so old, Colin! We look great, but we’re a lot older than the characters are supposed to be.
Once upon a time The alum also reflected on the success of the first film, noting that fans can’t stop talking about it.
“I can’t believe the longevity of it. Like, I still get stopped a lot for that movie. People tell me it’s their favorite movie. Or when it suddenly, like, I don’t know, comes on TV. It’s a top streaming thing or whatever,” he said. “And I don’t know how we didn’t go back and revisit it. Maybe it’ll be even better now because there’s been this ridiculous break between one and two.
